Race Evaluation

UNO Boulder Dash: Green M Day 2

Charlie

1. Just being careful.
2. Seemed to go ok. Just took a really long time, and I was having trouble running. Woods just a little too junky for me. Spiked it.
3. +06:00Really bad execution. Drifted too much uphill and hit the wall west of where I thought I was going to be, then crossed it and wandered even further uphill before relocating on line of cliffs W of control. Then headed east and picked up the wall, but stopped a line too high and just wandered around puzzled for a while.
4. Generally ok navigation, but maybe there was an easier way to get there. More or less straight, and spiked the control.
5. +01:30WSW to the big trail, then thought I was leaving it going up the reentrant that led to the control, but I was one reentrant W, and it was pretty vague. Relocated off giant boulder.
6. +00:30Straight. Got fooled by knoll to the south, but when I didn't find the rock relocated quickly.
7. +02:00Planned to head to the road straight off, but got on the wrong side of the marsh and ended up going around it and then hitting the road. Back to the trail on the E would have been just fine.
8. A little too far N and climbed down the big cliff, then easy from there.
9. Right down to the trail and in from the bend. Easy.
10. +00:30Down to the western trail to the junction, then along the side of the hills until I could see the northern marsh, then around that and the next one to the west, stopping on the smaller shallow reentrants to the W before figuring it out.
11. +06:00NNW to the trail and across to the next one, checking off the small green marshes on the way. Then along trail past another green marsh and right in to the depression, but no bag! Cast around to a bunch of things that might be depressions in the area, but kept coming back. Came in from the trail end 20 m away and still back to the same depression. Then I noticed a vetting streamer with 746 on it, which was good enough for me.
12. Not much zip left
F. ditto
