WCOC Season Opener: SprintB

1.		Nice leg. Read all the bare rock knobs and cliffs along the way.
2.	+00:15	Drifted a little right and came to #6. Not sure how that happened. Peter Grollman passed there. Then S to bare rock spur and in.
3.		Peter G out in front and lower and I lost sight of him. Hit slower trail near corner and over the spur. Could see the big rocks from there. Just behind Peter, who approached from the SW.
4.		around line of cliffs and bare rock, then angling for stream bed and behind knoll.
5.		Joe B. coming in behind me at #4 (didn't think until later that he had started before me). Drifted right and hit larger reentrant, then down under cliffs and in, punching just behind Joe who came from the top.
6.		Joe gone quickly. Approached from between the bare rock areas W of control.
7.		Caught a bit of trail on my left, then headed for the knoll. A few folks punching and leaving up ahead.
8.		Passed Lyn and later Gail. Trail for a bit, then on compass, crossing trail going down near the bend and on compass. Could see the rock from a distance.
9.	+02:20	Across reentrant, then got sucked up way right into saddle between knolls and suddenly didn't know where I was. Lumbered about the marsh for a bit, then figured it out and headed NE. Gail punched before me. Sometimes walking is better.
F.		Chasing Lyn, but can't quite catch her.
