1. | Took only a few steps in the wrong direction before seeing that the control was behind us. Looked like a half-dozen or so were already going that way when I turned around. Stepped in a hole and took a spectacular fall halfway there, and stepped in another hole just before the control. | ||||||

5. | Up until this point I had been getting hammered by the younger, faster runners, but now we headed into the technical stuff, and I was able to keep going a the same speed while they had to slow down to read their maps. | ||||||

10. | Charlie Shahbazian was coming on strong, so I pushed to stay ahead of him. | ||||||
11. | Saw a couple of people (presumably some combination of Craig Murray, Mike Lyons, and Stanislaw Rachitsky) punching at the last control, on a lone tree. But then I spotted another last control uphill of it, also on a lone tree. Scutinized the map, and saw that my control was on the lower lone tree... out of three. So I looked farther downslope and spotted the correct one. | ||||||
