| 5. | was confused along this leg? had i gone too far? never had good map contact but point had to be where steep....not good | ||||||

| 7. | not always in contact here either - did not even see path! did not sort out big bldrs - reloc by being due n of end of swamp, now pond | ||||||
| 8. | crappy terrain in departing - confused re which reentrant - got that t - was in company w/ Dave Yee - a bit behind. Went up hill but got too far R - was lost! noted big cliff behind - only thing that fit & used that assumption - things began to fit, then a knoll, then Dave | ||||||

| 10. | went to N of grn marsh in attempt to minimize climb | ||||||
| 11. | mistook marshes to L of line just fter half way - misread bldr/knoll combo, came upon unmapped path then wall jct & assumed it was mine but was to figure out it was jct to NE | ||||||
| 12. | st & after marsh, path was not one mapped - was absorbing this as neared lg reentrant, used compass & quickly saw the 2 big bldrs | ||||||
| 13. | st fwd - nice pine woods after leaving hardtop | ||||||
| 14. | competitor just ahead in last 150m - older guy who exclaimed, in Swedish accent, re the unmapped paths! | ||||||
| 15. | went st & into unmapped grn & then began a search which ended w/o misery.... | ||||||
| 16. | on & off w/ path & finally off to find it would have taken me direct.... | ||||||
