No attack point | Having failed two previous events, I was terrified of blowing 1st control & I did. Walking by bearing only got me messed up in trails extra to map. The whole day was saved when Randy ran past & I latched on.
2. | Watched Randy leave 2.

5. | My favourite leg, a long run cross a trail which marked the top of the map, SE after third swamp, caught runners ahead of me.
6. | simple E & S round swamp
7. | started SE on cross-swamp trail but had difficulties coming out on control side of swamp. It was green.
8. | |||||||
9. | What should have been an enjoyable long run was meltdown across the same portion of map as 1st control. Eventually found med tent at high elevation & came down cross swamp from there.
10. | Another failure, I actually asked veterans to locate me on their map while meeting at a control that wasn't mine. What a cheater.
11. | |||||||
12. | In this case, my trail run around the swamp may have been longer than a slog through the swamp.
13. | I took far too long on what should have been a straight bearing run that I watched others take as they caught me.
14. | The final controls were all-out straight down hill runs.
15. | Just make sure the control I hit is my own.
F. | As spectators, we'd already watched runners spill down this part of the map. |
