1. 596m 4:42 21 +1:37 52% 68.0 7:53   596m 4:42 21 +1:37 52% 7:53 Along the trail for a good long way, headed into the woods at a different spot than I intended, flailed around randomly, but in the right direction, until I stumbled into the control. This set the tone for the rest of the day.

4. 86m 1:05 27 +26 67% 63.6 12:35   1029m 11:34 29 +5:20 86% 11:14 You'd think I'd be able to find this trivially at this point...
5. 334m 4:07 31 +1:46 75% 58.0 36 12:19   1363m 15:41 27 +7:06 83% 11:30 Too low, not sure where I was crossing the trail, kinda figured I might be low, and once I spotted the ponds I was okay.
6. 122m 1:29 24 +35 65% 62.2 12:09   1485m 17:10 27 +7:39 80% 11:33 Distracted by a control in a reentrant halfway there.
7. 392m 8:42 31 +5:04 139% 43.4 3:08 22:11   1877m 25:52 30 +11:08 76% 13:46 A very good leg to be very careful, but I wasn't. Too far right, went though the (green) marshes between the trails, and when I reached the second trail, I was by a little marsh, which I hoped was the one with the trail on the far side. That would have been nice. But I was at the next one to the west, which I hadn't seen on the map. When I didn't find a trail, I should have backed out, but instead I bashed through the laurel and finally came out in some white, but didn't know what white. I guess I had a vague idea that I was probably too far west, because I did head in the right direction and stumbled into the control just as PG and Ethan caught up (10 and 8 minutes, I believe).
8. 231m 3:06 25 +1:16 69% 61.5 13:25   2108m 28:58 26 +12:24 75% 13:44 The three of us took different routes, I was the furthest to the right, not that that was really what I had planned. Saw the other two coming downhill out of the control when I got near the stream.
9. 409m 3:09 2 +20 12% 97.4 7:42   2517m 32:07 19 +12:08 61% 12:45 Lucked into a good route out via the open marsh and got ahead of PG (for good). Saw Ethan up ahead at the control.
10. 372m 3:07 8 +53 40% 81.8 8:22   2889m 35:14 17 +12:29 55% 12:11 Too far right -- again. Saw the ponds and waved hello to control #5 on the way by, then straight in from there, caught up with Ethan who had been too far left.
11. 196m 2:28 7 +23 18% 89.0 12:35   3085m 37:42 17 +12:41 51% 12:13 Couldn't read the details on the map, so just followed Ethan.

14. 99m 51 14 +8 19% 85.6 8:35   3593m 43:06 17 +13:43 47% 11:59
