Kirby Moor on a cool windy day. Pittifully slow shuffle in waterproof socks, many layers & a wooly hat. Meant to be "sunny intervals" but I soon found a large black cloud which kept me company for most of the run and then gave some drizzle during the last 10 minutes. Right heel been sore since Tuesday & sore again at the end.
Coaching in Hawkshead Primary school with Jo Cleary. I thought we had Years 1&2 to start but it turns out we had Years 3&4 - the tiny munchkins came out to play second.

Long run with the Old Gits from Bardsea. First climb up onto shoulder of Little Birkrigg a suffer-fest couldn't get going. Then chasing through on next section through miles 2,3,4. Once walked up onto Birkrigg then second half by myself and much more chilled. Very tired by end.

British Relay Champs - Skelder Woods. M60 3rd leg with Cliff Etherden & Derek Fryer. Starts delayed due to the muddy car park field, so by the time Cliff had completed & waiting for Derek then swept into the mini-mass start. Set off conservatively, still didn't make the best plan to #1 but focussed on compass direction and control appeared. Whew! #2 was easy, #3 began picking up the vague vegetation changes and managed to read the small spur in the slope to find the pit. Steady thrpugh #4,#5,#6 and then around the small paths to the other side of the green block. Good lines into #8,#9 & #10 & then slow crawl back to finish.

BOC Long - Mulgrave Woods. 21st of about 50. Hard slog through bramble infested muddy woods. No real errors other than a minute or 2 at thicket at #14 - put off by black & yellow tape. Just very slow in the conditions. Every time we came to a fire road my running was terrible.
