Crossfit 35:00 [3]

15 minute warmup. Then into Quarterfinals workout 2 of 4. This was 20 minutes of 50 wallballs (14# to a 10' target) 50 burpee box jump overs (24 inch box) times 3. 20 minutes cap. Managed to get almost 2 full rounds in before I got timed out. 196 reps.

First round of quarterfinals. 4 rounds of 1 minuters
Max snatches (135)
Max calories row
Max weighted step ups (35# in each hand)

Duncan and Mike suggested I blow off the snatches and put it all into the row and step ups. Honour and dignity required that I give the snatches a go, and so I did 4 the first round, then 2, then 1 and 1. That gave me lots of time to rest.

Stayed consistent on the rows (24, 23, 23 and 23) and step ups (14, 13, 13 and 13). Total was 153. Good with that.

Snatch lessons week 2. I now have a much clearer sense of what I’m doing wrong. Mike and Duncan are doing their best with me, but I’m a bit of a challenging case.

Warm up and then my favourite 30 minute emom, increasing the load for the minutes a tad. So now it’s
6 strict pull-ups
13 pushups
7 lunges/leg
Times 10
Another fine shared experience with Balogna, who is definitely figuring out this whole pull-ups thing.

Birthday flashmob run. balogna (along with some fake outs from unindicted co-conspirator, Anvil) pulled off a total surprise as folks came in from all directions for a wonderful Saturday morning run. By the time we got going we were a crew of 15-20 (hard to remember in the flurry of it all) along with 3 dogs. Then coffee and treats as we reprised old traditions of gathering and laughter. A great way to turn 66 (or 73 in Tracy years).

Note

Hey, SMT should become a thing again! The hottage is a fine launch off point for a run at a leisure pace and will always have coffee (and sometimes an excess of pastries).
