It's a much bigger Morgan Territory, with Joshua Tree-like rocks, and stellar views of the Sierra and the dramatic Kern River Canyon.
LIDAR-based maps this year. The contours look great.
Near Bakersfield, the Saturday 5k/10k happens in the afternoon, so you can drive up in the morning. Sunday morning, the 2hr/4hr finishes around lunch, so you can get back to work.
BLM offers free dispersed camping - camp right by the event center!
