There are many other activities besides the orienteering: bird banding, birds of prey, ropes courses, canoeing, kayaking, nature walks. Hot food is offered for sale as well. The Outdoor fest runs from 9 to 3.
Orienteering instruction and course starts from 11 to 1.
Courses close at 3:00pm for the start of HVO's Annual General Meeting at 3:30.
Directions
• Take Taconic State Pkwy to Route NY-301 West. Go about 3.5 mi and turn left onto Dennytown Rd;
• Or take Route US-9 to NY-301 East. Go about 2.5 mi and turn right onto Dennytown Rd.
• Once on Dennytown Rd, go 0.5 mi and make first right onto Indian Brook Rd, then first left onto Mountain Laurel Ln, into the Taconic Outdoor Education Center.
