That was a great run - not from the result, since as you say the other teams are putting that bar higher and you didn't have the shape you'd hoped - but from the realization that you had to keep pushing for your teammates. That makes you an honorable competitor, and one worthy of being on his country's relay. I sure hope that ankle heals up properly and you can find the motivation to be in super shape this fall for North Americans!

Great job persevering despite the ankle injury. I sympathize; it's so frustrating to have a limitation that hinders you from performing at your best. Everyone here at home is very proud of your relay results; much adversity was overcome for a good result. As you say, we need to figure out how to get better and faster.

You're going to be back in Boston in September, right? We should do some training together in anticipation of NAOCs.

Thanks for the story, and very well done under the circumstances.

And all of this is more experience for the future.

Super proud of the whole team. I loved that you were pushing hard, right from the gun, and you were being very diligent about resting and healing the ankle. So kudos on the whole week.

You are going to wind up as a first leg relay specialist if you aren't careful :) Tiomila, Jukola, WOC relay... must be weird to only have a handful of others on the starting line this time :)

Thanks y'all!

Yes, I will be in Cambridge in the fall and the goal is to not have a week pass without 2-3 days in the forest. Please join whenever you can!!

Also, Ross, I would love to become a first leg relay specialist, but I got still lots of work to do to get there : ).
