also, um, if I may ask, what is this mentioning peoples' heads thing? I'm one generation removed from the sod-roof-shack with a rain barrel out front for water that "mah daddy" grew up in, and we were raised to ASSIDUOUSLY not mention peoples' odd heads or any other oddities... is it a guy thing, or a golf thing, or is it like the golf course is a locker-room or something? or just a lunatic? yoicks!!
in any case, blowing it off w/ visit to Emporium of Frozen Delights is correct response...happy anniversary...

My thought, simply, was that my reaction to the comment was that I was pleased it just washed right off. And I took that as a sign that I am slowly making progress in the life-long struggle to be comfortable with who I am.

And that comfort includes being comfortable downing, and very much enjoying, a chocolate milkshake that Rhonda claims -- sight unseen -- must have had at least 1,000 calories. And there was the look, oh, Peter, how could you, and all the bad things in there too.

OK, so I won't do it every night....

Inspired by PG, I made sure to get a chocolate milkshake on the way home from Crandalls today. Didn't I read somewhere around here that they're God's gift to us all (only colder)?

I must admit, I was thinking that a shake on the way home today would be very tasty. But I was too sleepy to do anything about it.

However, I did do a little nutitional research. Note that these numbers are for a 10.6 oz shake, whereas Sugarloaf Frostee does not mess around, and their shake was roughly 20 ounces. So double the numbers. And what do you get?

-- A moderate 700 calories, practically slimming. I mean, you burn up part of that just during intake and digestion.
-- A mere 140 calories from fat.
-- 18% of your protein needs.
-- 80% of your calcium needs.
-- Not too much sodium.
-- A little bit of fiber.
-- And a huge amount of sugar, which together with a fine chocolate flavor, produces a wonderful high.

Hmm, it's getting late, I wonder if Sugarloaf Frostee is still open....

So JJ, did you wind up at the UConn Dairy Bar or Kathy John's? Or perhaps elsewhere on your route home... Damn, now I want one too. Mebbe I needs to go make one - haven't done that in a long time, but I've got ice cream and chocolate syrup, what more do I need?

Fribble at Friendly's in Sturbridge. You're close on ingredients, but you still need "milk" and "shake".
