Sorry to hear about your illness; I hope you can take however long you need to recover fully! Have a great time in Portugal, and take lots of pictures. Props if you manage to get a picture with Tove.
Feel better, and good luck in Portugal!
look at it as tapering for the meet! Anything I could bring you from the USA? ...other than Nyquil?
haha thanks y'all for the support : ) I'm still not feeling good, though fever is gone now...doctor says it does take time for viruses to end their course. I'll try running tomorrow but am not sure if running or not running is worse in these situations.
generally it's ok if you feel up to it and don't have a fever...just take it easy.
Here,
this should be helpful info. The author recommends that you rest 4-7 days for every day you had a fever, since actually having a fever is pretty damaging to your body. Seems conservative to me, but probably worth at least skimming the article. Hopefully you feel well enough to run while in Portugal!
Sometimes it seems you can run just fine when your sick and other times you can't. My test would be to run for a few minutes and think about how I felt. If I felt fine, I would keep going. If I felt like crap, I'd quit and walk back.
Ended up running in the last two days after all, mostly because I didn't have the time to properly recover anyways this week. Don't really regret it though, even if it did feet pretty crappy and only very vaguely productive. At least moving a bit will probably help me not being super-stiff before the race week-end.
