I am an athletic 46 year old and I am wondering if I am too old to get into AR. Any advice?

I started when I was forty! And, at the time, not involved in any athletic activities. What part of the world do you hail from? That might help some of those on AP to help get you started.

Lots of people start in their 40s, and many aren't that athletic when they begin. In fact, for a long time, one of the best teams in the world included three guys who kept winning international races in their mid-to-late 40s. Some top adventure racers are people who have moved into the sport after retiring from high level competition in other sports. Physical fitness is part of the equation but there is so much more to it - and so many forms of the sport - that it's something you will be able to enjoy for a long time.

As Work4Justice mentions, it will help us to connect you if we know where you live.

Advice - stop asking if your too 'anything' to do anything :-)

Mr Wonderful:
If you have an orienteering club in the area, go do all of their events. Sure you will get slightly spoiled by the hyper detail, but the nav prowess you accrue willl have you passing whippersnappers right and left.

Many of our feared local adventure racers are in their fifties.
