That collection sounds incredible; I would love to see a Battle of Britain era Spitfire up close.
Indeed a fine collection, including the operations room with WW2 era mapping. Duxford has at least 4 Spits, 2 are still operational! Even the Lancaster flies but needs a strong headwind to get enough lift.
Don't know if you've been to the Australian War Memorial - we were there recently while in Canberra for the Aust. O Champs. There are two magnificent sound and light shows recreating a
Lancaster raid over Germany and a WW1 dogfight over Belgium.
Simmo, have been many times, although last was 2009 (WMOC). Married a Canberra gal, whose Dad served in PNG during WW2, and I particularly remember the midget sub and Galipoli tribute. Always felt they should have a Canberra Bomber though. Spent a few years in ACT after leaving WA (80-87), running with the Red kangaroos and on the tail end of the Rob DeCastella show (AIS) around Mt Stromlo. Fond memories!
