Discussion: looking for a few volunteers (and a few spots left for racers)

We are looking for some volunteers to fill various roles from roving master mechanics to gate attendants (to let the racers through and keep the cows in the field) to Sport Ident gurus.

The course is an iconic point-to-point adventure. Its a logistical feat, with 120 volunteers involved in bringing it off. The experience will be unforgettable. And the food is amazing. Like a local-food Ploughman's Bison Sandwich (or veggie pate option) with a side dish and glass of home-grown iced tea after your shift or race.

Don't let the rugged remoteness of the peninsula keep you away.
Our Facebook Page can be a place to sort a carpool ride, and Parkbus can bring you from Toronto to within 1km of race headquarters and camping, and home again! if you choose this route let us know and we will pick you up!

If you want to race, we've still got space in both our long and short courses.

Our race partners can look after canoes/kayaks and bike rentals if needed for $20 for a boat or bike ($40 for both).

Volunteers please contact lindsay(dot)myles(at)gmail(dot)com

Here's the race website too.

I've done this event twice and really enjoyed it. The route passes through a beautiful part of Ontario, including private land that is accessible only on race day. Very special! Frankenjack is a racer and works hard to put on the kind of event that he would like to do, and the volunteers seem to enjoy themselves too. The enthusiastic community support makes it extra fun.

We're going great at filling these outstanding volunteer positions.

Things really are coming together well and Georgian Bay is actually "somewhat" warm!
