So mission 1 = control 1 and then just continued focus from there on out!!
Exactly.
And hard to give you any grief about the run, it was good.
So you can do this stuff. But every race starts with a clean slate, and every time it has to be done all over again -- So each time it's mission 1 = control 1 and then just continued focus from there on out!!
Thanks Peter, and yep! Time to really start studying some Finland maps...
When you do start in on the Finnish maps, check the contour interval.
When I was at the Fin5 in 2008 I could not tell the marshes from the rest of the forest. This really got me at first since the marsh was so obvious on the map but not obvious (to me anyway), in the forest. For the most part there was no water and they just looked like everything else. By the end of the week I could sort of pick them out--they were a little grassy as I remember and FLAT. Of course it might be different where you will be but that was my impression. We were in a small town called Sarjarvii which is about 50-60 miles Northeast of Tampere.
Marshes smell different. So does lichen-covered rock on a dry, sunny day. Yum. :)
Marshes are also usually squishy. That's how I first figured it out. But Ali has raced in Trondheim, so I bet she'll get the marsh thing pretty quick...
You definitely notice marshes in Norway- at least if you try running in them...
