Many thanks to Valerie for making sense out of chaos.

Now maybe someone can figure out the best split?

Wait--did feet really skip both 10 and 14 as shown in the analysis??

Edit: it shows two others with more than one skip, so there's most likely some other error.

And it sure looks like 22 was the best skip.

As far as verification that someone went to the proper number of controls, the time-honored BG method was used -- "Did you get them all? -- with the SI cards just for back-up in case they couldn't remember.

Will was the first to 14, and is therefore assumed to be responsible for its problems. Sergei was observed being escorted to #10 by Ian, Wyatt, and a platoon of cadets.

22 certainly worked very well for me. There was a fairly large group heading out of 17 going right to 19. Fortunate to have a few folks around me heading to 18 (Alar, Coach, cadet) to keep the pace moving, then hanging with Coach as we headed towards 20.
Surprised and pleased to see the front of the earlier pack coming towards me as I headed into the final section of dark green to the GO control.

Glad to claim 2nd place in the least-time-"lost"-based-on-AP-split-analysis behind Brendan and just ahead of PeggyD.

If you're not running alone, choosing the right pack to be a part of throughout the race to keep moving fast, but not so fast that you burn out was the right approach for me.

Love these Billygoat rules!
