A longtime racer recently pointed out that it took several years for a U.S. team to win Raid The North Extreme, one of Canada's original adventure races.
These days,
Wilderness Traverse a few hours north of Toronto, Ontario is Canada's most competitive overnight adventure race. As we approach the 4th edition of the race on Aug. 18-19, 2013, we have yet to see an American team on the podium, let alone on the top step.
Will this be the breakthrough year for our U.S. friends? Will our famous Bob The Beaver trophy be heading south of the border? Do we need to get him a passport? Or is navigating the rugged Canadian wilderness simply too challenging?
;))
We're also waiting for our first winning team from western Canada. Sure, it's easier to navigate when there are huge mountains on the map but we think you'll like all our freshwater lakes and rivers.
Btw for those who haven't met our Bobs, the one on the right is the trophy.
P.S. The other Bob (Miller aka Getawaystix) and I wish you all a happy holiday season and many exciting adventures in 2013.
