Look after yourself, I'm glad you have Dr Mum there to sort you out! Hope you feel better soon x x
You should take more time off when you are sick. In the long run, you will train more, because the cold won't last as long. I've tried all possible variations of training when sick and the best for me was when I took 3 days off. Things got better very quickly with that much rest and didn't come back with training.
oh no - hope you're feeling better by this weekend! Drink lots of orange juice. and take your zinc!
Thanks gals, am minding myself now, and should be getting better!
And yep, I should have just been more sensible from the beginning. Nothing was a big race or anything, should have just sat tight!
Get well Ali.
Are you taking vitamins? I have noticed that for winters that I take vitamin C (1000-1500 mg twice daily) and multivitamin (Centrum usually) religiously I hardly get any colds and generally have more energy and desire to train / do stuff. On winters when I am not as disciplined I would get colds now and then. Not scientific or objective, I know, but this is my experience with it from 10 -12 winters of empirical data :)
Nikolay also takes about 2000 mg of caffeine per day, which keeps him invincible.
I am fully sponsored Starbucks athlete.
Nice =) And I should be better about vitamins, may not be totally virus-proof, but can't hurt!
Unless you have a balanced diet, in which case excessive multivit can damage your liver or something. C should be ok.
Not working till midnight on proposals may also keep you healthier.
Ok, looked a few things up - it looks like it's primarily excessive vit A that messes with liver and my mulivit has <10% of the vitamin A that is found in a sweet potato, so probably ok. Really excessive C does mess with your kidneys in the end, but again, has to be pretty darn excessive.
Not staying up to midnight writing proposals, sure =).
