I could, but prefer to keep a handle on things. I've done it plenty of times - 4:15 is my course PR from back in the 90's. This is the 29th year, one of the oldest trail runs in New England...

Interesting. They have a pretty comprehensive results archive. My PR is 4:04:30 from 1986. Long time ago! According to the archive I ran it 3 times, in '85, '86 and '89.

btw - they have a pretty comprehensive Nipmuck archive because I entered and formatted all the old handwritten results so that I'd have a good historical basis when I took the race over last year..

Good work! Not many races have that good an archive. If I ran it now it might take twice as long.

Dave is starting at 5am with a headlamp. And arm brace / crutches because his knees are shot. But he's still out there...

I feel oddly calm this evening. I think all my bases are covered but can't help feel like somethings missing. Preparations have just gone far too smoothly. Last year at this time I was taking an emergency run on the course because I found out beavers had flooded a portion of the trail just days before race day. The bridge over the marsh was under 8" of water, but wadeable. No one drowned... Turn's out the beavers had plugged a drain culvert causing a rapid 18" increase in the level of a fairly large marsh...
