At first I thought you spent the day at the opera...
Nope, had to take my art geeks for a fix. The boys hate art museums, but they're away at camp. So off to the city we went...
Pretty scary too, we're going through the Egypt exhibits and Anna could pretty much identify most of the Egyptian statues by name before we even got to them. And we had to go on a search for 'William' who was not actually on display in the Egyptian wing. Anna read about him in a book many years ago and had to see him in person.
I had the same thought at the Met a couple weeks ago: a fantastic sprint venue. I wonder if there has ever been an entirely indoor sprint, say in a palace or castle with an intricate floor plan.
It was cool how some galleries opened certain directions, but not others, and there there really was no singular obvious pathways between sections of the museum, so you really had to navigate to get from one part to another if you weren't just randomly wandering the various galleries. I think I read somewhere that there was an O course set at Mall of America once. I could be imagining that though...
There was an event set in the Transportation Museum in York, UK, a few years back. Seemed cool, running around the locomotives and things.
Mall of America, yes, but I don't think it was a timed high-speed thing (not positive, because I wasn't there that day).
Here is an old thread with lots of links. Don't remember it; but that doesn't mean I didn't read it at the time :-)
