Great photo!
Part of what makes it interesting is the relatively disinterested-looking other people in the picture. I think most other sports photos would not have anything looking like that. Especially in what is arguably the world's most competitive event for the sport (European Championships).
That one is great. Here's another one in that spirit, if less striking.
What amazes me about the one I posted is his concentration reading the map while at the same time clearing the fence with form that would have you think style points were somehow involved (like in half-pipe competitions), all with a totally disinterested guy walking by. Never seen anything like it.
He's seen Ross' log. It's a note that reads:
"Clear the fence with plenty of margin!!!!!"
Like PG, I thought the most amazing thing about that photo is that the orienteer is totally focused on studying his map in the middle of a leap over the fence! (Doesn't he need to pay at least a little bit of attention to the landing?)
