great run Rob,
have you done the 3 peaks before ?
It should really suit you, given you hill running and marathoning.

observations -
warm up well because the start is likely to be swift. Keep it under control though.
Don't descend too hard off Pen y Ghent. Impact takes it out of your legs and I think you would pay for that on the long trek across to Wernside.
Same applies to the Wernside descent - there is still alot of fast running on gentle gradients to be done.
Also keep an eye out on others coming off Wernside as I suspect there is a racing line to leave the ridge, certainly the racing line is off the path once you are off the ridge.
The race probably starts once you are off Wernside.

Sulber Nick - there is a quad track on the right of the nick, on top of the crag line - quicker than running in the nick.

under foot - lots of firm fast trail, some fell, some road. If its wet there are a few sections where there is slithery mud, so you need some grip. Not sure there is anything you can so about wet limestone, other than avoid it. Know your rocks though as the gritstone is as you'd expect, really grippy. (the peaks are gritstone with limestone lower down.)

Thanks Andy. Great advice - will keep the racing lines in mind. Plan is to keep it as easy as possible for as long as possible...
