And it's going to be delicious.
Yes, crow is yummy.
(working on my pathetic trash talking skilz ...)
That was a little pathetic. :-)
@peggyd: doesn't the expression "eat crow" apply to the loser? :)
@LinearIce: it will be delicious.
Everyone is invited to the GourmO lunch after the middle race on Sunday.
(and I am happy to stop my 5 week experiment with trash talking :)
Good luck! I won't be there... started my career 6-for-6 in attending US Champs, and now I'm on an 0-2 streak.
How long has the SML champs been around? I think this will be my first. On the other hand, I've been to 22 consequetive Classic champs.
First SML was the one here in Washington in 2010. I actually didn't have an official result. I set the Middle, OVT'd the super ultra Long by 1 minute, and MSP'ed the Sprint. 2010 is when I made my "switch" of what I consider to be the proper US Champs.
Attended two weddings in 2011 over both champs weekends. And spring 2012? Ha! No.
2010?
The
OUSA champions list has "long" champions since 2010. Middle used to be called "short", and there are sprint champs going back to 2006.
And OUSA rules call for SML being presented at a single Ameet, not split up.
Also, CascadeOC technically hosted two Middle champs in a row. The 2010 at Moses Lake in the first-ever SML and the 2009 stand-alone champs at Salmon La Sac (fantastic terrain that we haven't used since, but we'll use again in June! Woo!)
And OUSA rules call for SML being presented at a single Ameet, not split up.
Correct. 2010 was the 1st year that rule went into effect. I think there's also a rule about if you want to host one of the lesser other championships (ultra-long, night, relay), that you need to pair them with something else, a la 2011 Night & Relay Champs.
Whoa. SML champs in Oregon in 2013? Yes, please!
