is 10 years since we won that relay isn't it? If you're game we should try and win it again in 2013
it's a date. You will have to join SYO though. Or maybe IFK old boys and we have to persuade Dover too.
Who was in that team again? All I can remember is Didsco resting up on the Sunday and overhauling Clive on last leg...
I am definately getting old as this is a bit of a blur...team was me, Dids, Roger and Jez. Results are here:
http://www.butlercole.plus.com/mn/jk2003/relays/in...
Jez Edwards, Rob, Roger Goddard, Me
Murray were you in that Edinburgh uni team?
That injury I had there ended what was left of my elite orienteering career and led me to the operating table, it was the last competitive race I ever did and I only got round thanks to Aussie runner/physio Lorenzo manipulating my ankle before the race. Since I was a little kid I'd always wanted to win that relay so that day it really was now or never.
What I don't get is that its only 3 runners in each team now, thats a shame I reckon.
Rob It'll have to be IFK old boys as I promised never to join SYO, you on 1st, me on 2nd, and then a real killer on last to make up for my lack of speed and age....Murray maybe? Dover reserve. Rest day on the Sunday. Can almost see the trophy on the mantle piece already.
if you beat Murray's marathon pb at London we might reconsider, but until then you're on the bench Dover!
Yeah, the EUOC team was Me, Bruce, Marky Boosch Saunders and Clivert - we were pretty chuffed with second too as I remember it.
JD is/was a member of Warrior? I'm quite keen to keep the Interlopers winning streak going though so I won't be jumping ship any time soon...
surely Roger and Jez should get first shout ?
when we did a WCH reprise in 2005 (at 20 years) we ran 3 out of our original winning 4.
your target will be bronze at least...
