Parking is very tight on Friday and there needs to be at least 2 people per car to be able to park at the event. I was planning to pick up a car and leave Cincinnati airport at 1 pm sharp. Anyone willing to carpool to the event at that time?

Is there anywhere nearby with more ample parking where we could form ad hoc carpools? I'll be flying in to Dayton just before noon and I'm not sure that will leave me with many carpooling options.

Update: okay, apparently the suggestion is that we do that in the Village of Belleview. Anyone want to meet there (landmark to be determined) at ~2pm and carpool?

The Friday fish fry location (and Saturday dinner) at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on the east side of Burlington is a good location. (KY 18, north side, first traffic light west of KY 237). There is no suitable parking area between Burlington and the park (several miles).

From the direction that most people will arrive, Belleview is a little past the park. There is a Baptist Church in Belleview with a parking lot. There is also a cemetery between the park and Belleview, which could work informally. The elementary school in Belleview doesn't dismiss until after 3:30, so their small lot is not helpful.

I am hoping we can get everybody in, especially if we don't get much rain out of the system coming thru on Wednesday. We originally only planned to allow the school groups with bus or van to come to the site and do a shuttle bus round-trip from Burlington for everyone else, but that's a long ways and is tough for late arrivals on Friday. Belleview does not have enough parking for 100+ cars, so Burlington would have been the closest place to stage a shuttle.

Charlie, I would like to go with you from CVG. You have my number. My flight comes in at 6 am, and I'll be in the Delta club.

I'm too cheap for a proper GPS. All I have is a 305.

Just a caution about Mike's directions. If you are on KY 18, it can be hard to detect KY 237. KY 237 is "North Bend Road" north of KY 18, but it changes names south of KY 18 (where it is Camp Ernst Road). So be sure to look at the street signs on the north side of KY 18, or you'll miss "North Bend Road".

I would also be interested in carpooling. I'll arrive in CVG at 12:07, will have a rental car, so could both give and take rides. I'll drive right up to the church in Burlington and try to find other orienteers.

I will arrive at CVG at 1:04 PM; is there anyone with whom I could hitch a ride to either the carpool rendezvous or to the meet site on Friday afternoon? I have other transportation arrangements for the rest of the meet. Thanks!

Ian, I could pick you up at airport... then I wouldn't have to rely on luck of carpool. Send email with flight info if you're interested.

Thanks to parking direction by Sam, Brennan, and David, (as well as all of those of you who carpooled), we got everyone in the lot. Thanks!
