We had a tentative plan to do the race with a visit to the W Springfield store before hand to check out shoes using some of Lyn's certificates. It got later and Lyn got a headache, so decided against it. Had been watching the red blobs on the weather radar all afternoon and noticed them heading right at FP. The timing seemed to be such that it would have passed by the time of the race. Guess it was fortunate as W Springfield was on the path and 91 was clogged.

I was watching the radar too, and it looked like it had moved on by race time so I went on up. Didn't find out until afterwards listening to the radio on the drive home exactly how bad it was and how close it was to FP.

I guess FP didn't sustain any serious tree damage or you would have noticed. Even CH will need to have a few more root stocks added to the map.

No tree damage - zip, zero, nada. Had to climb under/over a couple but they've been down for a long time... Wasn't even much leaf debris on the ground such as you'd see after a typical thunderstorm. We could hear the thunder from the 2nd cell that came through around 6pm, but FP was in the clear.
