Just great ! Now you got me looking at the worms - and wondering what they are doing in the middle of a big paved parking lot and where they came from.

and today there are lots of bodies of the ones who neither made it back to safety, or were eaten by the robins...

I talked to my sister in Scotland today and she confirmed that they don't see multitudes of worms on the sidewalks when it is rainy. The more I think about this mating thing, it doesn't make total sense either. Needs more investigation!
