Hope it goes well. Best of luck
My favorite line from the Douglas Adams Hitchhiker's guide books is "Ford, you're turning into a penguin. Stop it." Which is way funny in the context of what is happening in the book.
Thanks for being the star of the show. See you this weekend!
Ross, is it you that has Icebugs for me? Not that I need them anytime soon :)
I'm all set to pass the title of star of the show to you.
Thanks, Colm :)
I know you've mentioned water in the meet notes, but I hope you've considered the USOF Rules --
http://orienteeringusa.org/rules#B29 (specifically 29.6 re: water stops), at least for the sanctioned courses (Blue and Red).
I'll carry my own anyway, but I know a lot of Blue/Red runners don't.
Thanks for pointing it out. I wasn't aware of the regulation. Since USOF no longer exists... umm...
I put water where I thought it reasonable given the course design. We went for 8oz/person and rounded up, but I'll order some more with the warm weather forecast.
The regulation itself seems questionable. The Sprint Blue and Red have running distances over 3km...
USOF=OrienteeringUSA. Interchangeable still
As for the regs, some people think they a bit much, especially in the "rules," but I just wanted you to be aware if the expectations some might have.
I was so happy I carried water one year at West Point when three advanced courses came through one water stop on a warm (mid 70s) day -- and there were only 3 gallon jugs there! Water was long gone -- but I still had a bit in my waist bottle. I
I do indeed have your shoes, I'm left them in front of the door so that I would either a) pack them to bring to you or b) trip over them and hurt my face parts for your amusement.
