I watched your videos a bit yesterday. You seemed to always stand/walk few seconds at control right after punching. It shows also here. Is that intended and part of your O technique/strategy. To me it seems like a place you could easily shave lots of seconds - you could often see controls from far so you could have studied next route choice and route out of control before punching.

interesting, thanks for pointing it out. I guess this happens a lot and usually means I haven't read the next leg. I generally do not try to read ahead (afraid to miss the current control) unless the terrain is easy or I'm feeling very confident, but as you say there is often time for this just before the control. definitely some seconds to be gained here.
