Stage #4 (which Igor didn't do) had over 400m of the ~1000m of climb on Saturday. Stage #4 will be taken down on Saturday since nobody is permitted to orienteer on Dundas Valley conservation area land in May and June. So if you want to run it please do so before the weekend.

hammer, I thought Dundas Valley is closed now for COC 2013 or you are planning to organize some events/trainings there after June? if so, I am in!
PS: I am not doing the same mistakes like the last year. I will participate at all of the events you organize there- It helped Eric Kemp- it might help me.

Nick, I posted a climb as a note- you are right it was no so much climb there, but it felt like it ;)

Igor, if I remember correctly Eric Kemp won both the middle and sprint at GLOF. He won the sprint in an area that had not been used for orienteering in over a decade. His hard work with training and his eagerness to improve is what helped him pull out two very strong wins back in October - and nothing else. Implying otherwise is just down right rude and unfair to Eric and his fine accomplishments.

hammer, I said that Eric participated at the training camps in Hamilton at the areas similar to the maps of Ontario Champs and it did helped him with two gold medals. Do not change the meaning of my point.

I did the same as Eric last year, but for COC. I went at April to Ottawa, where I ran 5 trainings and a race in 3 days. I came back there in August and I got Silver at Sprint and Bronze at Long. And as I know both maps were used first time, so I did not cheat by coming in April and training at the similar terrain.

I did not try to question Eric's achievments, but underline the benefit of the training at the similar terrain!!!

Sorry Igor. I think I was influenced by a similar posting on AP last October but I can't find it anymore so I guess my memory is becoming foggy.
