Stonybrook is steep and green in many places. I tried to avoid the worst, but that's still a reputable time (and 3rd on the course!). I am eagerly awaiting the posting of Route Gadget so we can see where we each went. As I tunelessly hum "Oh where, oh where, has my Route Gadget Gone, Oh where, oh where can it be?"

And I have no comment whatsoever concerning Routegadget...

I apologize for not getting RG up faster. The expalnation: for 2 years I had from 8AM to 12AM to get everything done. Now I work far far away. My ability to use a computer at work is restricted, monitored, and secure. My home personal time is now limited to 8PM to 10PM which includes my entire social and personal life with my family, and catching up on everything else. So bear with me as I try to figure out how to work this into my schedule. Updating a RG event can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours; god knows why. I know you are not bitching, I just want you to understand.

Maybe if there was someone in OCIN who was around computers all the time, like perhaps a UC student, we could hand-over RG duties to someone else from time to time?

Hmmm.... Who could we find...

If I were a grammatical prescriptivist, I'd say, "It's 'Whom could we find...'"

I'm not complaining about RG. I figured work takes precedence.

Yes, I believe that you are correct. I am a product of both my education and environment. The latter having much unfortunate influence.

cedarcreek:
Yeah, me too. All indications to the contrary, I try really hard to not be a prescriptivist.

Yeah, teach me how to use routegadget sometime, and then I can do it sometimes.

(I didn't keep on top of everyones attackpoint logs during exam week.) but yes, teach me how to do it.

RG is easy. Give me a call when you are in front of computer and ready to draw and I can talk you thru any tricks. The hardest part is finding your name. Just look to the upper right where it says "draw route", select your course and then your name. Zoom in on the map as needed (+ and - arrows at far right), drag the view by click & drag, draw your route by clicking each time /place you changed direction. Make sure you get all the way to each control (RG shows a line going to the next unvisited control). Hit "undo" if you need to backup. If you paused to look at map, etc, hit the "+3 sec" button. You can add time spent standing still as needed in 3 second increments. When finished, type any comments then click "save route". Once you save you can't make changes, so if you aren't satisfied, don't save and start over.

Mike---Adam means doing the Pat work to put the courses online.

And Pat---I'd be interested in seeing that too. Maybe we can plan a training session?

Adam:
I meant getting the maps and events up on the website instead of Pat. I already know how to draw routes.

I second Matthew's remark: if there is an Orunner-sponsored tutorial on uploading RG information, I'd like to attend.

No, it's drawing the f*****g line! The map can't be blown up enough to make it easier. This is why I hardly ever put my route on RG.

Adam:
The line doesnt have to be exactly precise. You can get enough detail without zooming it in.

Duh. Ok Orunner, you are on. Train Adam. I still have that stupid song playing in my head. Help!!!
