Great job. Write down a few 'wish list' items for the GLOF announcing. Eg how many assistants with you, distance from finish chute and visibility of arena, time from pre warning etc. We have a spectator control for all races and the start is in the arena for sprint and long.
Sounds pretty good to go so far, especially the spectator control.
Off the top of my head:
1) Probably just one other person to help with the splits who knows that newish software and has a general idea of what's going on in the races (as in, we should be watching for the Elite Men coming in soon...)
2) If the "interviews" are of interest, let's get a designated spot for this and either have someone who will help corral athletes or have the athletes know they are to show up for this. I'm not a fan of having someone speak the moment they finish, but it is a way to grab people.
3) I might want to do one of the races, depending on fitness, so back-up for me.
4) Someone to deliver coffee.
Doable?
Doable! You can always run early too like Vlad did in NAOC and AZ did yesterday.
Tim's coffee OK?
How about a bean bag leader's chair at the finish like they did in snowboard at Olympics?
I'll need to talk to Magnus and others about distances away from the finish line control and things like that with the wires.
We will take photos of the layout of the Canterbury HIlls 'arena' for you. FInish is in the valley bottom so the hillside is good for viewing. Perhaps the finish chute should climb part of the hill to add some extra excitement.
Still waiting for you to trademark your famous phrase.
"Joe had a decent run"???
Could we get a guest colour commentator, such as yourself or someone like that?
Russ Evans would be awesome, "I don't know, he's not looking as fast as guys in the 1970s were running...."
Since the race is in the Hammer, we need a Leaders Hard Hat
Yeah Russ would be good. Hard Had it is.!
I like the leaders chair (or hardhat) idea.
Great job Nev. Having an assistant would help tons I would imagine. There is a lot to keep track of. You would want to have a separate person do the interviews too I think. Although I was saying to Mike how good I thought you were at the interviews.
