perefect timing for a map sample of this nature Jim. Was having a long chat with Nic Dent at the NSW QBIII last weekend about Oíng on golf courses, and he was keen to see some sample maps. Greens not marked as OOB/uncrossable? Grass or sand greens on this golf course?

Uncle JiM:
Greens were sand, so we didn't think there was a need to OOB them, as it's hard to mark them. Went around after and raked any that needed doing.

i should put up the night relay map from nz a couple weeks ago. the greens were grass and were marked out of bounds with a bright green. and vegetation boundary if i remember correctly.

Is that why Jim was talking about using the map for a night sprint at next year's To-day.

I have seen a map of a golf course where the vegetation boundary symbol was used to define the fairways, but just OOB symbol was used for the greens.

Looks like fun for kids

Are there any sand bunkers on the course, and did the golf club have any special requirements?

The IOF/media race at WOC2008 in the Czech Republic was largely on a golf course mapped at 1:5000 to (I think) ISSOM specs. Don't think the greens were mapped as OOB but don't recall running across any either.

No bunkers, and no special requirements. The Golf Club was very generous, didn't charge us anything. May have been because we were using it for Junior sport.
