Even I recognize Gord's and Steve Tarry's names. 32 years later, who else is still competing?

My first coach: Vasil Schandurkov, from my home town. Even though at probably 250 lb now competing is not the most accurate term to use.

Hey Peter, I bet your eyes are deteriorating to the point where that course looks a lot blurrier to you than it did back in the day, no matter what kind of glasses or magnifiers you try to use.

You like those fuzzy lines for the control circles and the lines connecting them?
The map was sealed in quite heavy plastic, with the punch boxes along the left side. And a little moisture got in. Though I don't remember how much of the running ink was done while still on the course vs. later on.
As far as the contours and other stuff, the printing is fine, was easy to read then, not so easy now.
Note -- I guess I'll have to dig up my map from the relay at WOC 79 in Finland. Not sealed at one end, and the red ink really was disappearing.

Also, if my memory serves me, the Norwegians had a copy of an earlier version of this map, which they did not share with any of the other teams.

Dieter Wolf (Sui) - has entered M21E here (I'm glad he's not in M60!). Geoff Lawford (Aus) currently dominating M55 in Oz, and Eoin Rothery (Ire) now resident in Oz and 2009 Oz Sprint Champion in M50.
