stinging trees do not sound like fun... anyone had experience with these? Will they sting through clothes?

Not sure about stinging trees, but I found the Canadian little sibling (sapling? *rim-shot*) the stinging nettle for the first time a couple of years ago. Talk about panic! We figured we were into something bad... something REAL bad. It was like thousands of super fine needles stabbing into you. It would burn for about five minutes and then it would start to settle. It wouldn't go through tech pants, but it was going through spandex. Once we knew that it would subside it was manageable, but during the first experience we thought we were in serious trouble.

Everything in Aus will sting through clothes- spiders, frogs, snakes, fish, barmaids, kangaroos, bunny rabbits... it's a tough place :-)
