Attention experienced adventure racers! Researchers at the University of Ottawa are currently conducting a study on the psychological elements associated with high-level performance in adventure racing. If you have been competing for at least five years, you are eligible to participate in this study.
The research study, supervised by Dr. Terry Orlick, will consist of an audio recorded interview lasting 60 minutes, scheduled at a time and place that is convenient for you. You may still participate in this study even if you choose to not be audio recorded. You might be asked to take part in a second, short follow up interview not exceeding 20 minutes if more data is required. The interview will focus on understanding your experiences in adventure racing and more specifically the ways in which you cope with the physical and psychological challenges you face while racing.
If you are eligible and interested in participating please e-mail Dr. Orlickās graduate student, Brittany, at bglyn066@uottawa.ca and she will contact you promptly. Feel free to pass this message on to your team members and any others who may be eligible to participate. Your participation and support are greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help and good luck in your future races!
E-mail sent. Hopefully they are game to do this by phone.
Looks like they will do it by phone... Brittany is just looking for the equipment to record the interview as such.
Yup, phone interviews are definitely do-able. Thanks for the reply, spread the word if you know anyone else who may be interested.
