Has anyone else tried to make reservations at the event HQ hotel yet, using the link on the OCIN website? It tells me there are no rooms available, even if I specify no preference for number of beds or smoking/non-smoking room. I can't believe it would be full already....

I struck out on the website too. I also struck out with the 800 number. I called the hotel. They told me they did not have rooms available for the special rate on Thursday night, which is the night I arrive. I can't remember exactly what they said, but the hotel is apparently pretty full.

Only trying to book Friday and Saturday here. It's kind of odd for it to be the event HQ if no one can get in to stay there. One member of our group will be attending the USOF meeting which is to be held at the hotel.

It will pull up some rooms for me at AAA rates but even those are $15/night more than the 'special rate'. Are there no rooms left for us at $85? Its not like this is the last minute.

Just a few days ago, they told us they had lots of rooms. I will have our lodging coordinator call them right away. I know at least 2 people including myself who made reservations there thru the online system with no problem.

followup: Its after 5 pm here and our contact has gone home for the day. David (our lodging coordinator) will talk to her first thing in the morning. I am hoping this is just a glitch (maybe they only authorized a few rooms to get the special rate).

For Thursday night, the Motel 6 on OH-125 (I-275 exit 65) is actually closer to the Friday venue than the Event HQ.

Not to mention MUCH cheaper.

More rooms have been added to the block -- nonsmoking rooms with 2 dbl beds, or a king w/sofabed. I just checked the link and it's working fine.

If anyone else has issues with the Holiday Inn, please post it here so I am aware of it and can act on it. Or, for perhaps a quicker response, you may contact me directly at dswesq@fuse.net

Early Monday morning, one person reported that the motel reservation system was only offering King and sofabeds and not doubles. There should now be double rooms available as well. Please let us know if you have any problems. David will keep in close contact with the hotel.

10% off at Motel 6 is now linked from Flying Pig lodging page and USOF website.

It is standard business practice for the Holiday Inn to release any blocked rooms 2 weeks out from an event. That deadline for our not-yet-registered applicants will be this Friday, 3/26, @ 5pm. After that they will be subject to the "going rate."

Reminder that blocked rooms will be released today at 5 pm motel time (Eastern). Their regular rate is higher.
