Discussion: Skip

It looks like #10 was a much better skip than #25. Although skipping the latter was lower risk, because a miss might involve climbing a few contours.

I initially thought that #10 looked like the most obvious skip, but when I got to #9, the field just looked so runnable that any advantage didn't really seem to be there so went to #10 anyway saving the skip for later - which turned out to be #25 in my case. At the time I didn't think #25 was a great skip, but had run out of good candidates late in the race, but in retrospect I think it was probably better than skipping #10.

Well... People used 3:15 from #9 to #11, so I assume I could have done it in 3:30. In comparison, I used 6:30 on #9-#10-#11. That 3 minute loss is 2 minutes more than the 1 minute most people seemed to gain by skipping #25.

Thank you all for coming. We do have some extra shirts and have decided to sell them for $10 each with proceeds to go to the US team. You should email me to see if there is still a shirt in your size (presently all are available) and then I will send it to you when I get the check payable to WCOC.
