. . . you didn't take the Epic, it would have been more expensive if that flew off the car roof - possibly $2,600 worth of expensive!
I wouldn't have even considered leaving the epic on the roof without straps. It barely stays on in a light wind let alone yesterdays gale.
Actually I wouldn't have got the epic on the roof at all. I would have been wrapped around a tree 100m away still hanging onto it.
I just had lunch at Cott and can verify that yes indeed, the pylon has fallen over . . . some huge waves are coming through!
That'll save them some wasted money fixing it up then.
Unfortunately it's still attached to the block of concrete, it hasn't washed away, so I'm sure the bill to fix it will only increase.
So why were you lunching instead of paddling?
Not sure the boss would have appreciated me coming back to work all wet and bedraggled and in tears cos of a broken ski. It was a bit too onshore today to have made for much fun! Tomorrow, tho,shall be different, I am practicing yelling 'WOOHOO' in anticipation!!
