I'd say that you hit the primary questionable sites in your list, esp 11 though I got it quickly, and 8 which did not really work - the clue was E foot but seemed like it was N or NE foot. Very naughty to not specify the proper feature among the many in the circle. Or get a better feature. 18 was another that caused confusion among some, though I nailed that one as well.

Saturday's map was confusing as the distinction of cliff v boulder cluster was not clear because the boulder were drawn too close together and overlapped in the printing.

Peter I am 100 % with you on this issue, and to add to problems you mentioned in your log, just pull the map from plastic bag and see how thick and milky that plastic bag was, far from clear, I wonder if Eric W. made a comment about it. I was stopping a lot on Sunday just to get the picture from the map. I still like the course design, though :)

The other thing I forgot to mention was the amount of cutting of the circles and the lines connecting the circles -- great to keep from covering over features, but perhaps cut so much that it bacame hard to see the circles. This was especially true for #11.

And all this was on a bright sunny day which makes reading the map easier. If it had been raining....

I still can't see what the center of the circle was supposed to look like on #18 under bright light with a magnifying glass. I agree also that #11 was not a reasonable site. I agree about the descriptions being pretty vague for 6, 7, 8 and 9, but at least the control was in the center of the circle and the map was more or less legible there. Still not sure 18 was on a mapped feature (or at least I can't find one there) and it seems like it might have been nearer the north edge of the circle than the middle.

And I thought I was just not any good at reading the map and needed more magnifying power. I think 18 is OK, the cliff is even on the old map.

18 - the cliff is there. Tick marks would help as it is one of those soft locations with unclear grade, esp with the circle hiding the surrounding area.

#18 - still can't see it. There is a place near the center of the circle that might (or might not) have a faint small cliff, but that seems to be facing SW and the cliff with the bag seemed to be facing NE.

While I was having tea at 4 this morning, I was able to carefully trace the contours (I think). They all seem to be there and head some place but are covered and difficult to see. The cliff is on the hill top facing N. The next line N is down one and the S side of a reentrant, contrary to my thinking on the day and while going over it with Lyn when I thought it was a spur heading W.

I never thought that Pine Hill could look like so much fun to run at...

Still looks pretty funky there. I thought there might be a hilltop in the center of the circle, or just S of the center, but then it looks like there is an east facing spur with a substantial cliff at the bottom just N of the hill and with no intervening reentrant, which doesn't make much sense. If someone can draw the contours large enough to see them, I would be interested in finding out what the map was supposed to be showing.

Who has the 0CAD file?

At this scale it looks pretty straightforward.

OK, I guess I get it, except for the cliff in the eastern part of the circle. That sure looked like the foot of a spur at regular size. If that weren't there, I think I would have been fine. I kept bouncing into the wall and assuming there had to be a spur between the wall and the control. It just never occurred to me that there was a two line knoll involved. I could kind of see the inner line, although for a while I thought it was a reentrant, because the space between the inner and outer lines looked so distinctly to be a spur.
