i've seen a few glimpses of maps of that NE terrain, and i am baffled on how to plan and execute route there...

I think it'll involve going slower for me, while also learning how to simplify the map effectively, so that my brain doesn't get overload. I hope to glean something from looking at PG's map collection of various Harriman and West Point courses. Should be a fun learning experience regardless, as this will be my first time ever orienteering there.
