Discussion: Pig extra niceties

So, it would be very nice to have, after the Pig:

1. WinSplits.
2. RouteGadget.
3. Splits imported into AttackPoint.

I just talked to Mike Minium. All three of those have, unfortunately, to hold until Monday next week. There was a data control/access issue (read someone left with a laptop with all the SI files, and is out of reach/country/Universe until Sunday 09 April). I believe the results crew needs the SI files to properly export to WinSplits, and the same format can then be used by RG and AP. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I am working on setting up RG, which turned out to be nonstraightforward for my Apache installation, so hopefully this will be done in a few hours.

Notwithstanding, there was another issue that concerns Sunday results only. Somehow the SI master station hardware, or the software, had a problem reading SI 6 e-cards. It is highly likely that there is no record in the software of the splits of those who used SI 6 fingersticks, only of the total time. We plan to query the SI stations to retrieve the splits. A small number went off to another club, and those splits are likely lost. If all this becomes too cumbersome, which it certainly looks like at this point, there may never be a complete list of Sunday split times, so possibly no AP, RG, or WS for Sunday.

Vladimir, if they were able to see the start/finish times, then the settings in Event/Settings were incorrect - probably the date was the day before, or even earlier...and one of the things that does is not show the splits. Though the times may be shown in Evaluate SI card, I can only come up with an inelegant way of restoring them...
First, fix the SI settings to show the correct date and pick "less than 12 hours." Then go to Evaluate SI cards and delete each person's who used an SI 6 card. Say "yes" when it asks whether you want to keep the SI card number.
Then go to Read SI Cards and restore the SI Log file. This will overwrite everything including any previous corrections made - like inserting a missed punch, etc. But it will also restore the splits for the SI 6 people.
Someone else may have a better solution, but I tried a couple of things to no avail...

That probably explains why my split list didn't show any splits after #12, nor a finishing time. but the operator said my download cleared normally, and showed a time for the finish control (so he calculated my time manually). I have a new SI6 stick. First time I used it this weekend.

Tundra/Desert, if you have problems with RG, let me know the details.

We have seen the identical thing in Calgary. Valerie's diagnosis is almost certainly correct. (I don't know an easier fix offhand, but I do know that the fix at our club's event involved setting the base time correctly, and I think re-evaluating. And yes, the problem affected SI 6 only, not SI 5. All splits and results were obtained after fixing the base time and re-evaluating.)

And Jim's suggestion of the re-evaluation only may certainly work. SInce I tested the issue by changing the date on an already finshed event, the original splits got blown away. In OCIN's case, it may just be a matter of correcting the date, going to Evaluate SI Cards, and computing again...

Vladimir / Mike - disregard the email I sent earlier today, I hadn't seen this thread.

Base time—my strong guess would be it has something to do with the daylight savings time change. Units were programmed before the change, which occurred on the morning of the event. Another fine marvel of Gerrman engineering?

I'll try to get them downloaded again before my next e-punch race. (Probably the short-O champs.)

No worries, Mikkel, Valerie heroically recovered them. Winsplits for Middle, Sprint, Relay, and Classic are posted, and RG hopefully tomorrow. Sorry it took so long... there were issues.

I've also imported the splits into attackpoint results for courses which were already created (red/blue mostly). for others I assume there is less interest, see winsplits.

Finally... again, sorry the gadget took so long. (If you link to it, note no slash after "routegadget".)

The setup looks great! I'm glad to see OCIN having their our RouteGadget installation. If you like, I could transfer last year's Pig events to your new site, just let me know.
Remember to register your site at RouteGadget Index.

Are the rough details for the 2007 Pig available yet? (Something along the lines of the info for the US team / BOK meet would be great - which maps, roughly what times events will be held. It's less than 3 months away now and probably time to start thinking about flights.)

I'm posting in this thread since knowing the details would be extra nice.

March 16-18, 2007.
Middle distance on Friday at Miami Whitewater, 15-20 miles west of Cincinnati, immediately off I-74.
2 Sprint races in Cincinnati city parks on Saturday.
Long (classic) distance at Miami-Whitewater on Sunday.
I'll plan to get more details up after we finish our New Year's O' Festival.
