I'm searching for a place to stay in Cincinnati and feel unsure about the options.

The club is not recommending anything? Where is everyone staying?

Motel 6 option B - never stayed so can't really recommend but at least it has some positive reviews

From internet search, I found Holiday Inn Express to be the closest ('Cin West' one a bit closer than 'other'). About $100 a night though - full breakfast.

Harrison OH, 15 miles NW, had Quality Inn and Comfort Inn about $20-30 less perhaps. One had breakfast.

In the past, we've had luck by stopping at first OH rest area and picking up discount coupons brochure. They might have lesser known motels. I was surprised at how few chain motels there were on I-74 NW of Cin.

We're staying in Harrison at the Comfort Inn, where we also stayed 2 years ago when most of the event was at Miami Whitewater. The majority of hotels closer to the meet sites were either more expensive or had poor online reviews. Quite a few seemed to be in not-so-great sections of town. Decided to go with a place we already knew and drive a little further to the event site.

If you're looking for something close by, the Kingsgate Marriott at University of Cincinnati could be an option. It is practically down the street from the Saturday morning sprint, and about a 10 minute drive to Mt. Airy Forest. Rate is just under $90 with a AAA discount.

The Cincinnati Reds will have its Opening Day on Monday, April 6th. For those who aren't familiar with baseball, it's a very big deal in town, with a parade and sold out crowd. So perhaps this is one reason hotel rates near downtown aren't cheaper for the weekend.

In general, I think you'll find the more economical options to be located in the northern suburb of Sharonville, or west in Harrison, Ohio (as furlong47 pointed out).

Harrison is a convenient location if you have a car, 15-20 mins easy drive via I-74. There is nothing on I-74 at exits 18, 17 or 14 (the exits for the park). Imperial House at Exit 11 is high end and last time I checked, expensive. Nothing at exits 9 (I275 N), exit 7 (OH 128) and exit 5 (I-275 S). That gets you to Harrison at exits 3 and 1. There is a waffle house and other choices for breakfast within walking distance of the motels there, which include the Comfort Inn and HI Express mentioned above, as well as a Quality Inn.

If you get one of the inexpensive budget motels on Colerain Ave, or Central Pkwy, or the Motel Deluxe in Harrison, expect to get what you pay for.

This is one that I looked at. But also note that there is a $15.00 a day parking fee for the garage, which brings your daily cost up.

Anyone know anything about the Quality Hotel & Suites Central?
