Discussion: Good map...?

It _was_ a very good map. And most things that don't change over a few years, such as the brown, black & blue features, are quite details, and all there. Aside from the vegetation, it's still a very good map.

However, since areas of white on the map now vary from 5 min/km fast open forest, to 15 min/km 3-foot deep fern covered rock & deadfall (due east of 3), to 45 min/km 8-foot high blackberries (due north of 5), I wouldn't call it a very good map anymore. Looking at the map and seeing a 400m leg through mostly white, and not knowing whether that will be faster than a 700m route via roads makes it a rather bad map for route choice.

It's too bad, as I hear it was a all-around very good map just a few years ago.
