HGaston:
I'm hoping to bring a JV team from UNC to the intercollegiates, but the team members are new to orienteering and are not USOF members or members of the local club in NC. I need to let them know soon what all the costs would be of attending the Intercollegiates so they can decide if they're able to come.

Is USOF membership a requirement to compete? I looked in the rules and didn't find anything about it, but just wanted to check.

Thanks!

USOF membership is not a requirement to compete, though it is one of the requirements to be eligible for the USOF title of JV or Varsity Champion, and it is also required to compete for the USOF team titles.

Membership in a club is not a requirement at all unless you want to compete for the Club Team title (Varsity only).

USOF has a reduced fee of $15 for students 21 and under.
