I'm thinking there may be a need for special padded bike shorts specifically designed to prevent recumbutt - or has that niche product already been invented?
A real recumbent bike seat works wonders - those things they have on the machines in the gym are not even close. I can ride all day on my own bike without any issues, but the gym bikes have pretty hard seats and since my back side is not extra plush, the pelvic bones sit pretty hard on the seat.
But at least those bikes have arm rests so I can lift myself up off the seat for short spells, can't do that on the real bike...
I did find the special recumbent bike shorts online. They have no padding at all but have snug elastic around the thigh to prevent ballooning and sealed pockets so you don't drop your keys or cellphone as you speed along.
I guess you'll have to bring your padded stadium seat with you when you go to the club.
And recumbent shirts have the pockets in front. Unless I want to resort to riding down in the cold basement, I guess I'll just have to H(my ass)TFU
Even with my more-amply padded back side, I also get recumbutt after about 15 minutes. They definitely need thicker padding on the seats!
I actually find less is better - the seat on my real recumbent is a mesh seat
