I need to quit being so hasty, is what I came to conclusion. Although, I had to leave the meet shortly after and could not go back to it, I do think some of the trails around control #4 in the green were made up as well as some distinct trails not mapped.

i think at best there were alot of unmapped trails and the veg boundry was questionable but Bone had no problem.

I thought 4 was in the right place. The only problem I had (and others did the exact same thing), was right after the trailhead, there was a fork, so I turned right, and it promptly stopped after 50 feet. I popped back out, and it was good after that.

There are a lot of unmapped trails in that section of the map. If you go back to the previous version of the map (from 2005), there are a lot more trails mapped. When it was updated in 2006, some of the trails were removed, likely because they were grown over with vegetation.

I know that EarthCorps has done a lot of work at Lincoln Park since the summer, specifically with vegetation restoration. That opened up a lot of that area of the map, and probably re-exposed a lot of those trails.

I took it slow on both 2 and 4, knowing that the trails could be suspect. However, from how I approached both of them, the only issue I had with unmapped trails was that little spur I just mentioned. Otherwise, I thought it was mapped decently, but I can understand how it could cause problems if you missed a turn in there and things weren't mapped correctly...

The same thing happened to me in 2006. Short leg in that section, ran around in circles for 4 minutes....
