as nice as other places are and can be for running. there is still something that home has, that they dont...
Oh that's such a nice thing to say, especially for us who have only run in Oz.
When you do it kazza, you will agree
WHEN - that sounds optimistic!!!
Psych research on holidays shows that generally the greatest pleasure we get from them is the anticipation from home and then the reminiscing from home again. While away its often less enjoyable than anticipated because of uncertainty, homesickness, business or loneliness. We are planning a trip to Europe next year, so we are starting the anticipation as early as possible to get maximum value. Lets see. The Dolomite 5 days will be great. The via ferrata climbing afterwards, and the world war one mountain tunnels will be even better. The guidebooks and photos on the web make anticipation of this activity very easy. I have always wanted to run Slovenian kaarst, so OOCup looks a certainty for reminiscing afterwards. Visits to Venice and Dubrovnic will mean lots of classic tourist photos to bore others with as well when we get to reminiscing mode. Hey.. I'm meant to be anticipating the trip, not the reminiscing. More practice needed.
PS to Karen... I had to wait till past my 50th birthday for the first European trip. So hang in there and you will grow old enough more than soon enough.
PPS to Jymbo. Running at home might be the best, but not apparently at a local event when its cold and its raining and you can excuse yourself by sitting in a tent pretending to be needed for the SI gear to work.....
I went for a pretty nice run today.
